It’s easy to say, but harder to do. Why did we choose for this to be included in our mission statement? The proof is in the pudding, I guess.

First off, our flagship location is in Artesia. A community that Dan, and Kevin both grew up in - or around. My wife (this is Mark writing) went to school and grew up in a neighboring city. It was important for us to keep the first location as close to home as possible. We can get the store from our homes in less than 10 minutes. Our second location in Bellflower is also special to us. We have spent several years investing in the Bellflower community. It’s a city we care about deeply, and are VERY excited to be apart of it’s revitalization.

Job training program: Alongside of Kingdom Causes Bellflower we were able to hire someone that was considered “hard-to-hire” and give them a 6 week crash course in restaurant kitchens. Kingdom Causes is a non-profit community development organization in Bellflower. That first employee has since moved on and got a full-time job!

We are continuing to look for ways to invest in our communities so if you have any ideas, let us know!

P.S. Please consider signing up for our coffee subscription! We think it’s the best subscription available in Los Angeles County (and best priced) and helps us keep these programs going.

Thanks!
